Initial Assessment & Planning

All interested consulting candidates are required to make an appointment for an evaluative Initial Assessment and Planning Session, which is a 1.5 hour program where we conduct an objective analysis of your profiles based on actual Admissions criteria (we will need your transcript, resume, test scores and a short writing sample).  We will conduct a formal evaluation of your materials and a brief interview assessment to determine your current status and identify areas for improvement.  We will also plan a general positioning strategy for your core essay and discuss other elements such as potential recommenders, and develop a preliminary risk-distributed school list.

What you will get:

  1. Formal evaluation of your entire application profile, using Ivy League-standards
  2. SWOT Analysis:  Identification of your key strengths, weaknesses, issues of concern
  3. Recommendations for Actions to Strengthen Profile
  4. Planning for Early Decision / Early Action, 1st Rounds
  5. Standardized Test Selection & Strategies
  6. Timeline Framework for everything between NOW and Application DEADLINE
  7. Customized School List & Estimation of Chances

What you need to bring:

  1. Transcript, grade reports, teacher comments
  2. Updated Resume – highlighting quantifiable achievements & leadership
  3. List of Activities – Community Service, Art, Music, Sports, etc.
  4. Standardized Test Scores (real and diagnostic):  TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, GRE
  5. A short Writing Sample, preferably in first person

The Initial Assessment and Planning Session is required of all candidates who would like to be considered for our selective Admissions Consultation program.  Please call or e-mail to reserve an appointment time, approximately one week in advance.
